Prague, September 13, 2023 – VDT Technology, a leading provider of technology solutions for transportation and mobility, is delighted to announce the signing of a strategic agreement with Mobileye, a global leader in autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems. This strategic move broadens VDT Technology’s portfolio to include the groundbreaking Mobileye Shield+™ Connect anti-collision systems designed for buses and trucks, as well as the Mobileye 8 Connect™ system for automobiles.
VDT Technology has firmly established itself as a leader in delivering comprehensive technology solutions aligned with the vision of smart and safe cities and the Internet of Things (IoT) platform. Offering a portfolio of innovative solutions, the company specializes in intelligent monitoring systems, digital modelling, simulation, and predictive analytics. Collaborative projects are developed in partnership with esteemed scientific institutions such as the Czech Technical University in Prague and Brno University of Technology.
Mobileye Global Inc., predominantly backed by tech giant Intel, has positioned itself as a prominent player in the realm of autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems. The company’s portfolio includes innovations in camera technology, computer chips, and software to transform the landscape of modern transportation. Having started as an ambitious startup twenty-five years ago, Mobileye has evolved into a renowned market leader focused on the development and production of driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicle testing. Their accomplishments include safety technologies tailored for mass transit operations in densely populated urban environments. Utilizing sophisticated machine learning and computer vision algorithms, these solutions continuously analyse the surrounding environment, identifying potential hazards such as vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
Collaboration between VDT Technology and Mobileye aims to introduce advanced safety technologies to the Czech market, with a particular emphasis on enhancing public transport safety in bustling urban areas. The Mobileye Shield+™ Connect and Mobileye 8 Connect™ products, featuring artificial intelligence capabilities, have been specifically designed to address issues such as blind spots, while meeting rigorous safety standards established by the EU General Safety Regulation.
Mobileye Shield+™ Connect is a versatile system capable of alerting drivers to potential hazards, including blind spot situations. Its vision sensors maintain continuous surveillance of the road ahead as well as the blind spots on both sides of the vehicle: the A-pillar and the left mirror. When hazards are detected, the system issues real-time visual and audible alerts to assist drivers in avoiding or mitigating collisions. Mobileye 8 Connect™ is an advanced collision avoidance system harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. This groundbreaking technology is part of the Mobileye Connect Platform (MCP), offering a comprehensive overview of fleet safety indicators and driving performance. By analysing Mobileye ADAS data, MCP generates accurate reports on driver behaviour, enabling improved classification of driving efficiency and setting parameters for driver evaluation.
Roman Shubert of VDT Technology commented: “This partnership, built on the integration of Mobileye’s pioneering technologies with our comprehensive solutions for smart and safe cities, will reinforce VDT Technology’s position in the realm of innovative and sustainable transportation and mobility.”
